Anger never, ever serves us well. Does this mean deny your feelings? I think not. Anger is a kind of insanity. We allow it to 'give us permission' to do things that we wouldn't do if we weren't angry.
How many times have you used the excuse, "Sorry, I was angry."?
Do yourself a favor, head off the need to apologize and just don't allow anger to push you into doing or saying things you will have to mend later.
Look at where the anger, the strong feelings, are coming from. Deal with that and healing will result on many levels.
